Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is holy listening.
The director listens in love to the person seeking direction
and to the Spirit of God at work in that person's life.
Together, in the sanctuary of spiritual direction,
we listen for the creative, transforming voice of God
which calls each of us to be our true self.

Spiritual direction is a safe place to explore
your questions and concerns about your life with God.
A spiritual director is a trained listener
who will accompany you as you share about your spiritual journey
and help you to notice God's presence and activity along the way
as well as your personal reactions and responses.
Hospitable, confidential, and grounded in biblical truth,
spiritual direction is a ministry that helps you
grow in prayer and in your calling as a beloved child of God.

What to expect:
Most meetings for spiritual direction last about an hour
and usually take place on a monthly basis.
Confidentiality is strictly honored.
The director may open with prayer
and a few moments of silence,
and throughout the session a prayerful atmosphere permeates
in which God is the true source of guidance.
Spiritual direction differs from therapy, which is problem-focused.
Instead, the seeker focuses on responding to God more deeply.
The first session is introductory
as we explore the possibilities
of a continuing spiritual direction relationship.
Monetary contributions are welcome, but not at all required.
